Where every child can play…
Clemyjontri Park features a unique playground where kids of all abilities can play side-by-side. Sometimes people mistake Clemyjontri for a place where only differently-abled children are welcome. It’s so much more — a playground where every child is welcome and can join in the fun! When she first thought of the park, Mrs. Lebowitz wasn’t focused on children’s’ abilities, but her own. She envisioned a place where adults could play right alongside their kids.
This park is a place where children who use wheelchairs, walkers or braces, or who have sensory or developmental disabilities, can have a parallel playground experience of fun and exploration.
The Clemyjontri Dream
Clemyjontri Park is an oasis, preserved in perpetuity for everyone to enjoy. The 2-acre playground is just one part of an 18-acre property dedicated to the park. Every aspect of fun and exploration that makes a play-place heavenly has been reconsidered in the creation and development of our playground.
Clemyjontri Park is the dream of our benefactor Mrs. Adele Lebowitz, who envisioned this playground and park and generously donated this 18-acre property. Mrs. Lebowitz wanted to name the park after her children, but she couldn’t pick just one. That’s why the name CLEMYJONTRI is derived from her four children: Carolyn (CL), Emily (EMY), John (Jon), and Petrina (Tri). She and her family still live on the property today.
